This month I attended NESST 2025 in Prince George, BC, which was well-attended with 340+ attendees present. This is the largest the annual conference had within the last 12 years. It was a phenomenal opportunity for networking, knowledge-sharing and learning from other EM/ESS professionals. I hope to attend next year in Kamloops!
I have discontinued offering EP/BCP plans as part of the services I offer as there are other services taking priority–ie: discussion- and operations-based exercise planning and inclusion. If there is a project or service not listed in the “service” section of the JLM Disaster Resiliency and Accessibility web-site, please reach out to me for a conversation!
April 30th is International Guide Dog Day! A day to celebrate the work training, instructional teams and puppy raisers for their dedication in ensuring puppies grow up to be exceptional guide dogs by bringing independence and safe travel for blind, visually-impaired and deafblind individuals. For me, even after 25+ years of using a guide dog, I am still in awe how much my guide dog(s) have provided companionship and independent travel in both familiar and unfamiliar areas.
