Development and review of an Emergency Plan (EP) or Business Continuity Plan (BCP):

  • Here are some questions to ask yourself when reviewing and/or revising your EP or BCP plans:
  • Who is your audience for your EP and BCP?
  • Does your EP and BCP consider the needs of the vulnerable populations (ie: people with disabilities, elderly, etc)?
  • Have you considered the social constructs of disasters in certain populations during the response and recovery phase?
  • Have you considered inviting businesses/individuals of people with disabilities in participating in full-scale exercises and/or reviewing your EP and/or BCP?

Training and simulations:

  • educational sessions on blindness, deafness, and deafblindness for emergency management professionals and professionals serving the above population.
  • Emergency preparedness presentations geared towards blind, deaf and deafblind individuals and groups.
  • Observe / present at full-scale annual exercises.
  • Conduct simulation exercises (ie: blind fold and ear plugs doing everyday activities).
  • Educational webinars/ Lunch and Learns for any group or organization.

Presentations can be conducted virtually, hybrid or in-person within Canada. All requests will be discussed during the complimentary “meet n greet” over Zoom, phone or Facetime.
