Holiday Greetings and Reflection

2023 was a challenging year for Canadians; in particular, residents of British Columbia saw 2,245 wildfires burn approximately 2,840,000+ hectares of land. The unprecedented events is worse than the 2017 and 2018 wildfire season. Although there is now a modernized emergency management legislation, there is continued research in finding solutions in mitigation and preparation for future hazards. Impacts to the economy, critical infrastructure, cultural values within the indigenous population, agriculture, tourism and the ecological values can cause devastating consequences.

My dream with this business is to educate individuals and businesses of the ramifications of not mitigating hazards and identifying risks in hopes the impact of a disaster is reduced significantly. In 2024, my goal is to seek out networking opportunities and attend webinars, workshops and conferences to build on my educational journey and professional development. I look forward to a new year full of knowledge learning/sharing and collaboration.

Have a safe and festive holiday season with your two- and four-footed family members and a memorable start to the new year!
