National AccessAbility Week–May 26-June 1, 2024

Definition: “Accessibility refers to the design and implementation of products, services, environments, and technologies that are usable by people with a wide range of disabilities encompassing physical, cognitive, visual, auditory, and other disabilities. “

This year’s theme is: “Forward Together, Accessibility and Inclusion for All.

What does the theme mean to you? Are there barriers that affect you in your daily life that you wish to see changed? Is there something in the realm of disaster reduction or preparedness you see that needs to be adapted or accommodated for individuals with disabilities; in particular, for individuals who are deaf, blind or deafblind? Reflecting on these questions can help you consider what gaps needs to be addressed in an accessibility standpoint.
